The Future Ain’t What It Used To Be

Written By June Milligan, MEd., CCHt |

In this time of rapid change on every level, it’s really important for us to realize how and why we’re experiencing certain things in our lives. The old dusty ideas and habits of thinking no longer support us or provide answers that satisfy. Whether it’s about religion, politics, culture, science or economics, the forces of change are blowing through and scattering old ideas like leaves before the wind. We cannot afford to prolong our ignorance of how things really work, or we’re going to find ourselves left behind in a pile of old ideas and old strategies, whining and nursing our resentments about the fact that things aren’t the way they used to be.

We are being dragged, forced, pushed, cajoled, shocked and led into new situations that demand personal resources that we may not have yet developed. However, we’ve been told by many spiritual teachers for some time that we are powerful vibrational beings living on the leading edge of thought, creating our own reality. In the last few years, these concepts have become widely disseminated, and as a result, millions have tried them out. People have applied these new ideas to different aspects of their lives, trying to leave any dysfunctional programming from family or culture behind, and forging ahead using new ways of thinking. As a result, they’re discovering talents and abilities within themselves that they never knew existed. This new awareness will be sorely needed in the future, as events seem to continue to come at us faster and faster.

In order to deal with massive change, we must leave our intellectual and spiritual childhood behind and realize who we really are, and therefore think accordingly. Those changed thoughts will change our reality, and increase our personal power exponentially. We are moving from the Information Age into the Intuition Age. By realizing that we are energetic beings, influencing our own lives through our thoughts every moment, we are becoming more “in tuned” to what is best for us in every area. The cultivation of intuition and insight at this time is just the next step in our mental, spiritual and emotional evolution.

Understanding that we are vibrational beings living in a sea of vibration, and understanding that like attracts like, gives us a different perspective on why we’ve attracted what we’ve attracted into our lives regarding health, abundance, relationships and everything else. By looking at things through this new lens, we begin to make some sense out of past “happenings,” past events regarding ourselves, family and friends. We are now realizing that through our thoughts, we are “happening to ourselves.”

So how does this work? If our thoughts are so powerful, what happens when we think a thought? The most powerful spiritual information says that the vibrational frequency of our thoughts beam out into the surrounding “soup” of vibrational frequencies we live in, and attract back to us the essence, people, conditions and situations which match the thought. That same thought then gives us the emotions to match. Our emotions drive our words and actions, which go to make up our lives.

Our beliefs are incredibly powerful. They almost always become a self-fulfilling prophecy. After all, a belief is just a thought you keep on thinking. If you think a thought, or hear someone state a “fact” often enough, you begin to believe it, whether it’s true or not. And every thought has its own vibrational frequency, like a radio signal. As that thought beams out into this energy soup we live in, which physicists call “the field of all probabilities,” it attracts back to us what we’re thinking about and believing. So we get what we focus on, whether we want it or not.

The second thing that happens when we think a thought is that thought is immediately picked up by the subconscious mind, which can’t tell the difference between real and pretend. So our subconscious thinks that thing has “happened to us again today” and logs it in as an experience, even though it happened years ago or is just a fear of what may happen in the future. As a result, we get the emotions to match, which then drive our words and actions, which go to make up our lives.

The third thing that happens when we think a thought is the vibrational frequency of that thought floods all fifty trillion of our cells, causing that “pharmaceutical company” in our body to manufacture chemicals and hormones to match the thought. If the thought is positive or uplifting, our bodies manufacture endorphins, the pain killing hormone, and serotonin, the feel-good hormone. If the thought is fearful or negative, our bodies manufacture cortisol, the stress hormone. Cortisol was designed to be in our cells only a few moments, while we ran from the saber-tooth tiger. But it’s not socially acceptable nowadays to run screaming down the street when we get a little stressed. So that cortisol just sits in our cells, damaging them and compromising our immune system. The thought that caused all that chemical action then gives us the emotions to match, and what happens next?

Our emotions naturally drive our words and actions. So when we notice that we’re experiencing negative emotions, it’s our built-in warning system telling us we need to change our thoughts in order to feel better and to be healthy. That is the signal to “pivot” our thoughts to something positive that we want to experience. That pivoting of thought causes a whole different cascade of positive chemicals and positive energy in our bodies. Either way, our thoughts create our emotions, which drive our words and actions. So, become an observer, not only of yourself, but also of the people around you and you’ll see for yourself how this works.

This is a do-it-yourself process. But like anything else, once you learn how, you have to practice it in order to do it quickly. By being consistent in doing these mind control techniques, you gain more personal power. And by consistently practicing mind-quieting activities like meditation, self-reflection or contemplation, we actually shift our energetic frequencies. Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith says, “Science research projects in the areas of electromagnetics and quantum physics are revealing what spiritual giants of all times and traditions have told us since the beginning of recorded history: we are luminous, energetic beings of creative intelligence, naturally equipped to become fully self-realized.”

Since we have some incredibly effective built-in systems for soothing and healing ourselves, it makes sense to learn them and use them regularly as we move into the future. So celebrate yourself and your brilliant mind-body system. Celebrate your experiences, your loves, your adventures, even your failures. Appreciate yourself and those who love you, every single day. Focus on and talk about only what you want, rather than what you don’t want. And thereby participate in and attract to yourself the very best of everything. Celebrate Life!
