Information about the Law of Attraction has been around since 1987, when Esther and Jerry Hicks began publishing their channeled information. Then in 2006 a movie–produced by Rhonda Byrne–titled The Secret appeared on the scene and went viral. The popularity was so global that Rhonda soon wrote a book with the same title. Since then, dozens of books have been published that try to explain how this Law of Attraction works or how it can work for you. Most are just a reprise of the original information from Esther and Jerry Hicks.
However, this little book is different. It gives you nine experiments, with easy-to-understand directions, which will prove to you that you do create your own reality, no matter how much programming you’ve received that says you don’t.
Millions of people have seen the movie The Secret, or read the book and played around with trying to change their thoughts and expectations. But, old beliefs die hard. Way down deep most didn’t actually believe that they create their own reality. That belief became a self-fulfilling prophecy, so sure enough, it didn’t “work” for them.
The simple experiments in this book are scientifically supported and the ideas are credible. By doing these experiments, you‘ll prove to yourself that you do create your own reality. The author is funny and creative. Some of her chapter titles are The Dude Abides Principle, The Alby Einstein Principle, The Superhero Principle, The Jenny Craig Principle and The 101 Dalmatians Principle. She explains how to prove to yourself that, “There is an invisible energy force, a field of infinite possibilities” that you can learn how to use. You’ll also prove to yourself that despite all appearances to the contrary, humans are not matter, but instead are continually moving waves of energy. You’ll also prove that your thoughts and consciousness impact matter; also that your thoughts about yourself and your food are in a constant dance with your cells and provide the scaffolding for your physical body. You’ll find that the universe is limitless, abundant and strangely accommodating.
Each experiment takes 48 hours. You set it in place with some simple tools, along with your ability to focus and observe and then you let it go. Nothing could be simpler. The purpose of this book is to help you with your belief system. How would your life change if you could really, deep down, believe that you create your own reality? You’d have to let go of some old programming, some old ideas that you’ve been fed that may be holding you back. You’d have to open your mind and try these experiments with an attitude of scientific neutrality, rather than pessimism.
There’s a reason that science uses the double blind and sometimes triple blind processes when doing experiments, especially physicists trying to work with pure energy. They know that the thoughts, attitudes and belief systems of the person who sets up the experiment will affect the outcome. So they ask someone who knows nothing about what the experiment is supposed to prove, to set it up. By being neutral in both thoughts and expectations that person cannot affect the experiment.
This author knows we’re already pessimistic. Most of us believe that we don’t create our own reality, and that things happen TO us. These are baby-step home experiments that can be done by anyone. So you can be neutral, just like in a laboratory. You don’t have to be wildly enthusiastic nor morbidly pessimistic. Just be neutral about it and see what happens. Let the universe prove to you that you ARE a powerful being. As Mark Twain said, “It aint’ what you don’t know that gets you into trouble, it’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.”
