What Love Means to Me

200-ariby Ariana Purcell, 12 years old |

As you know, February is the month of love. So, I would like to say what love means to me. It means that you care for someone. During this month, I like to list all the things that I love! Well, number one is of course my family, because without family we would have nothing. Second on my list are friends; they are always there for me. Number three on my list would be the Earth, because the Earth makes our lives possible. It’s our home. So, when you make your love list, make sure to add Mother Earth!

This is a fun month because in my class we make Valentine cards and do art projects to give as gifts to people we love. Well, I know I do. Here are some tips on how to stay green, when making cards/projects for Valentines.

When you are using paper to make a card or project, make sure to save the scraps. Someone else could use them for their project.

  • Use glue, sparkles, or other adornments sparingly, do not over do it!
  • If no one else needs the leftover scraps, make sure to put them in a Recycle bin.
  • If you receive chocolates or a gift, reuse the box or the bag it came in!

Follow these tips and they’ll help you stay green! Make sure to pass these on to your friends, teachers and parents so they can stay green as well! Also, tell all of the people you care about that you love them!
