Stay Young and Sexy with Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement

300-bookbook by Jonathan V. Wright, MD & Lane Lenard, PhD | reviewed by June Milligan |

(The Science Explained)

Dr. Jonathan Wright has been advocating bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) since the early 1980s and has more experience with this therapy for menopausal women than any other physician in the world. He has written books and hundreds of articles explaining why bio-identical hormones are far superior to hormones concentrated from pregnant mare’s urine – better known as Premarin. That concentrate was unfortunately not bio-identical to humans, and as a result caused an enormous amount of trouble for decades. Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (now Pfizer), the manufacturer of Premarin, had neglected to add an essential hormone, progesterone, to the pregnant mare’s urine concentrate, so in an attempt to solve that problem, came up with something called Provera, which contained a pseudo (pretend) hormone which mimicked progesterone. They later combined Premarin and Provera into something called Prempro. If you were menopausal anytime during the last 25 years, these names are familiar to you. Some of the side effects for Prempro turned out to be increased risk of breast cancer, depression, memory loss, severe headache, dizziness, chest pain, numbness in arms and legs, fluid retention, blood clots, hair loss, acne, skin rashes, weight gain, nausea, and the list goes on.

In contrast, the appropriate use of bio-identical human versions (of estrogen and progesterone) have shown not to cause any sides effects used by hundreds of thousands of women over the last 25 years.

Dr. Wright has been on a mission for the last quarter century to provide women with the information they need to make intelligent decisions about their own bodies. Unfortunately, he has had to do battle with the pharmaceutical companies the entire time. Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (Pfizer) made $billions selling Premarin, Provera and Prempro to American women. They weren’t happy about losing that revenue when an independent study showed that these drugs caused many life-threatening issues.

There is no money in bio-identical hormones for Big Pharmaceutical companies, so these companies want to alter the natural hormone, call it something else, patent and market it. However, women have been developing the perfect hormones for our bodies for a couple of million years, so if we want to replace those hormones to relieve the symptoms of menopause, it makes sense that we need to use bio-identical hormones. Dr. Wright explains that with these hormones you can extend your youthful years, invigorate your sex life, end hot flashes and other discomforts of menopause, cut your risk of osteoporosis, heart disease and cancer, as well as decrease your risk of Alzheimer’s disease and senility.

How do we find a physician who prescribes them? And how do we locate a compounding pharmacy that prepares natural hormones? It’s all in the book. And most important of all, how do we find out if we need them? There’s a free on-line assessment at www.stayyoungandsexy.com. This site also has a complete list of chapters so you can easily see how comprehensive the book is. You can pre-order the book from this site, and it should also be available soon in local stores and at Amazon.com.

William Faloon, co-founder of the Life Extension Foundation says, “Today’s battleground is over who will economically benefit from the sale of female hormone drugs. Forgotten are tens of millions of maturing women whose lives are devastated because of hormone imbalances. Dr. Jonathan Wright cuts through absurd lies put forth by pharmaceutical companies and reveals how women can reverse premature aging disorders using customized bio-identical hormones.”

  1. You are probably wondering why do we use the word, “bioidentical”? That’s an excellent question. I can remember back when I was in first year medical school learning biochemistry at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Our class used Lehninger’s classic textbook of biochemistry. Lehninger never used the word, bio-identical hormones, because all hormones are by definition, bioidentical hormones. They simply used the word, “hormone”. Using a word like “bioidentical” was simply redundant and unnecessary for a biochemistry textbook, as it should be today. In my opinion, Bioidentical Hormones are safer and more effective than their synthetic hormone counterparts, and there is plenty of evidence for this.
