Mother’s Day

200-ariby Ariana Purcell, 12 years old |

Everybody knows that Mother’s Day is coming up soon! On this day you give thanks to your mom for everything she does. My advice to you is to help out around the house, or if you have siblings babysit for an hour or two.

What I did for my mom on mothers day last year…
I woke up and took care of my two twin sisters and my baby brother, so my mom could sleep in. I got out craft stuff for us to make cards for my mom. I also bought her some different little gifts with my chore money. Then I hid the cards and little gifts around the house, I cut small pieces of paper and wrote out clues to help my mom find all the gifts. I also made breakfast on a tray and hid that in the oven for her to find! After I had my game completed, I sent my siblings in to my mom’s room to wake her up. Once she was up, I gave her the clues to find her gifts. It didn’t take her very long to find the gifts and after she did she ate her breakfast that I made her and she said thank you to me and my siblings!

A good craft to make your mom:
Make your mom a totally recycled card!

  1. Use scratch paper or any paper that you find in your recycling bin – don’t worry what it looks like, the crinkles and scribbles give it character.
  2. Use markers, crayons or pencils that you have at home to write a message to your mom.
  3. Go back to your recycling bin. Use any items or paper that you could cut up and glue on the card, to add a little flair.
  4. You can also use string, cold cereal, pasta or other similar items to decorate the card.
  5. Enjoy giving the card to your mom on mother’s day!

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
